THEMES, PROMISES, ORDER, & DIRECTION

 

Week#1 (Palm Sunday)                                           [Forbearance/ Endurance]

·        April 05    Is 50:4-7; Ps 22:8-9,17-20,23-24; Phi 2:6-11; Mk 14:1-15:47

 

Theme:          God exalts us when we patiently bear our cross daily.

                                                           

Promise:       “The Lord God is my help, therefore I am not disgraced.” (Is 50:7)

Order:            “At the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil 2:10-11)

Direction:    

1.      Pray unceasingly, in every opportunity, to be ready to bear the sacrifices as we obey God’s will in our lives with all humility.

2.      Continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ thru the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

 

Week#2 (Easter Sunday)                                        [Prayer Life]

·        April 12    Act 10:34a,37-43; Ps 118:1-2,16-17,22-23;Col 3:1-4; Jn 20:1-9

 

Theme:          God exalts us when we overcome our sinful ways by His grace.

                                                           

Promise:       “…that everyone who believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins through his name.” (Acts 10:43)

 

Order:            “Preach to the people and testify that Jesus appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead” (Acts 10:42)

 

Direction:    

1.      Seek what is above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. (Col 3:1b)

2.      Give thanks to the Lord (Ps 118:1)

 

Week#3 (2nd Sunday of Easter)                              [Faith]

·        April 19    Act 4:32-35; Ps 118:2-4,13-15,22-24; 1Jn 5:1-6; Jn 20:19-31

 

Theme:          God exalts us when we believe & accept the Risen Christ as our Lord and Savior.          

                                                           

Promise:       “…believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.” (Jn 20:31)

 

Order:            “Do not be unbelieving but believe” (Jn 20:27b)

 

Direction:    

1.      As a community of believers, be of one heart and one mind in bearing witness to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

2.      Be of one heart and one mind in loving one another just as we love God and obey His commandments. 

 

Week#4 (3rd Sunday of Easter)                              [Repentance]

·        April 26    Act 3:13-15,17-19; Ps 4:2,4,7-9;1Jn 2:1-5; Lk 24:35-48

 

Theme:          God exalts us when we preach repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

                                                                       

Promise:       “Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, is expiation for our sins and for the whole world” (1Jn 2:1b-2)

 

Order:            “Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away.”  (Acts 3:19)

 

Direction:    

1.      Keep His Word so the love of God is perfected in you.

2.      Trust in Jesus

3.      Be at peace with one another
