WORD

           

The Kingdom of God is for those who lift up the poor.

 

 

ORDER

 

“Invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you.” (Lk 14:13-14)

           

 

Prophecies

 

  1. Go out and spread My Good News; be with the poor for there you will meet Me.
  2. I will make you a light to the nations that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.
  3. Humble yourself before me, it is your heart that I desire, come into my presence and you will find favor with God.

 

Directions

 

            1.      Do corporal works of mercy – clothe the naked, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, bring out prisoners from confinement and proclaim the Good News of salvation.

            2.      Restore the dignity of the poor by helping build homes and promoting livelihood projects, community development and Christian values formation.

THEMES AND PROMISES

 

 

Week#1 (22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time)                                       [Mercy]

 

Theme:          We lift up the poor when we help build homes for them.

 

Promise:       “…you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”              (Lk 14:14b)

 

Week#2 (23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time)                                       [Generosity]

 

Theme:          We lift up the poor when we share our resources with them.

 

Promise:       “The gracious care of the Lord our God be ours; prosper the work of our hands.”“(Psalm 90:17)

                       

Week #3 (24th Sunday in Ordinary Time)                                      [Evangelization]  

 

Theme:          We lift up the poor when we bring the Good News to them.

 

Promise:       “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”  (1 Tim 1:15)

 

                       

Week #4 (25th Sunday in Ordinary Time)                                      [Equality]

 

Theme:          We lift up the poor when we restore their dignity.

 

Promise:       “He raises up the lowly from the dust; from the dunghill he lifts up the poor to seat them with princes, with the princes of his own people.”  (Psalm 113:7)

 

Week #5 (26th Sunday in Ordinary Time)                                      [Justice]

 

Theme:          We lift up the poor when we seek justice for them.

 

Promise:       “Blessed is he who keeps faith forever, secures justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry.”  (Psalm 146:6-7)
